Will there be a Love & Hip Hop Chicago?

Love & Hip Hop Chicago

It appears that VH1 may not let their failed Mob Wives Chicago series deter them from taking another stab at a successful Windy City franchise expansion as numerous reports have surfaced indicating the network has plans to expand its most popular reality show franchise there with a Love & Hip Hop Chicago!

Though nothing has been officially announced by VH1, the production company Invisual MediaPro tweeted and Facebooked this announcement back on January 25:

We are currently doing casting for the hit reality show “Love And Hip Hop CHICAGO”.

We have already started the production process and we have some top Chicago celebrities involved.

If you feel this is of interest to you & you meet the qualifications please send your pics & contact info to invisualmedia@*****.*** and someone will be in contact with you.

Thank you for your time and GOOD LUCK!

Invisual also appears to have placed a Craigslist ad (which has since been removed) picked up by ActorsCasting.com on January 22 titled *”LOVE AND HIP HOP CHICAGO CASTING CALL”* (CHICAGO) with the same description.

There were also two separate Facebook pages for “Love and Hip Hop Chicago” created in mid-December, both of which claimed at the time that they were casting for the show. (PAGE 1, PAGE 2)

Since there has been no official announcement, there has also been no official word on who will be in the cast, although FakeshoerDrive.com says there are rumors in Chicago that Shawnna (Rashawnna Guy – daughter of Buddy Guy and former member of Infamous Syndicate) and Lanipop may be participating.

Adding a little fuel to the rumor fire was this audition video that just turned up from transgender Chicago hip hop star Sidney Starr, who reveals in the clip that she has been a dancer for Shawnna (hmmmm):

Sidney knew enough to send a couple shout outs to Mona Scott-Young, founder of Monami Entertainment and Executive Producer of both Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and New York. Perhaps Shawnna gave her a heads up on which name to drop?

I don’t have a lot of confidence in saying that there will definitely be a Love and Hip Hop Chicago, but I think with a legit production company like Invisual Media saying it is currently in production, I do feel pretty confident in saying they’re giving it a shot!

So what do you think? Would you tune in for the Windy City incarnation of Love & Hip Hop?
