What does Jersey Belle’s Jaime Primak Sullivan’s husband Michael Sullivan do for a living?
Bravo’s newest reality show venture Jersey Belle premieres Monday night at 10/9c. The show documents the life of New-Jersey-born PR maven Jaime Primak Sullivan, who now lives with her husband, Michael Sullivan, and their three young children in the Birmingham, Alabama suburb of Mountain Brook. In the network’s description of the show, Michael is described as “Mountain Brook’s ‘most eligible bachelor.'” So what does this most eligible bachelor do for a living, and why does his job prevent this Jersey Girl from moving back home?
Jaime Primak Sullivan’s husband Michael Sullivan, 51, is a state lobbyist who heads up The Lobbyist Group, with high-powered clients ranging from the National Rifle Association to the Title Pawn Council of Alabama.
Some of Michael’s other former clients were gaming machine manufacturers Bally Gaming and Nova Gaming, who came under scrutiny in 2010 as part of “an FBI investigation of possible vote buying on legislation to expand electronic bingo,” according to TimesFreePress.com. Here is a video with Sullivan outside the courthouse after he spoke with FBI agents and delivered subpoenaed documents in their investigation:
As far as Jaime and Michael’s relationship, the two met while Jaime was living in Los Angeles. They did the long-distance dating thing for two years before Michael proposed and Jaime was (as Leadbelly and numerous others have famously sung) Alabammy bound.
And what are the chances of the Sullivan’s leaving the South behind and heading back to the Garden State? “I never stop asking him to move North,” Jaime told NJ.com, before pointing out that it’s much harder to be a long-distance state lobbyist than a public relations exec. “That’s a big part of the reason why he doesn’t leave,” she says, in reference to Michael’s job.
Jaime also seems to indicate that Michael might not be quite as adept at cultural adaptation as she has been throughout her life. “He’s, like, horrified by our people,” Jaime says of her Alabama beau’s trips to Jersey. When she does manage to get Michael up in Springsteenville she says “he’s a wallflower, says nothing for four days.”
Jaime and Michael have been married for seven years and have three young children: 6-year-old daughter Olivia, 5-year-old son Max, and 3-year-old daughter Charlie.
