VIDEO – Twitter hacked, redirected by ‘Iranian Cyber Army’

For about two hours Thursday night beginning at 10 PM EST, Twitter was reportedly hacked and redirected to a website claiming to be the “Iranian Cyber Army” with with following message (via TechCrunch):

It was a temporary DNS redirect, and Twitter had this statemenet when it came back up: “Twitter’s DNS records were temporarily compromised but have now been fixed. We are looking into the underlying cause and will update with more information soon.”

This summer Twitter was a communication outlet for protesters during an Iranian election. Mainstream media had difficulty getting access to what was going on, so protesters used Twitter to share information and pictures with the world.
