VIDEO New cast for Real Housewives of Atlanta announced: Who are Claudia Jordan and Demetria McKinney?
Summer has ended, but the drama will heat up again on Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta starting Nov. 9.
The network announced the new season today…
Bravo Media’s favorite Georgia Peaches return juicier than ever when season seven of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” premieres on Sunday, November 9 at 8pm ET/PT. Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, NeNe Leakes, Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks are back this season, and joined by media maven Claudia Jordan as they foster new friendships and attempt to rebuild old ones. Also returning in a recurring role is Porsha Williams and newcomer Demetria McKinney.
That loaded paragraph reveals former full-time housewife Porsha Williams has been demoted to a series regular while arch nemesis Kenya Moore retained her role. In Porsha’s place is Claudia Jordan. (We got a sneak peek at the complete cast when they vacationed in Puerto Rico in August.)
New Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Claudia Jordan and Demetria McKinney.
According to Bravo, Claudia is good friends with Kenya and just relocated from Los Angeles to Atlanta, where she co-hosts The Rickey Smiley Morning Show and contributes to HLN’s Dr. Drew On Call.
New “friend of the housewives” Demetria is also involved in the entertainment industry and is known by many for her role as Janine Payne on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. She also has a recurring role on Lifetime’s Devious Maids and is reportedly dating Bobbcat Films CEO Roger Bobb.
In addition to acting, Demetria is also a singer and recently released an EP titled “Officially Yours.” Here’s her 2013 video for “Still Believe in Love:”
Among the veteran stars, there is still plenty of drama: NeNe and Cynthia attempt to rebuild their friendship. Kandi and new husband Todd Tucker struggle to conceive. Kenya also decides she wants to have a baby. Then, of course, Phaedra tries to adjust to life as a single mom when husband Apollo Nida goes to jail… And is allegedly coping with it by having an affair with an African man named Chocolate?
