Vermont man goes to crazy lengths to get fired from a chocolate factory
Let me preface by saying I have so many questions about this story. For one, why on earth would you want to get fired from a chocolate factory? And, if you do, why would making a bomb threat be the first thing that comes to mind?
That’s what happened in the case of Kristofer Pregent, who really, really didn’t want to work at the Barry Callebaut factory in Vermont any longer. Police told WPTZ the 22-year-old stole another employee’s phone during his shift on Monday and called 911 to report a bomb threat. To conceal the evidence, he then threw the phone in a toilet tank. Because that wouldn’t raise more suspicions or anything…
Incredibly, police put two and two together. When confronted, Kristofer confessed he made up the bomb threat because he “hated his job” and figured a phony bomb threat was a good way to get fired. Unfortunately for him, he also faces charges for public alarm, petite larceny, and unlawful mischief.
