Tina Turner wore a black and green silk wedding dress, has reached Nirvana

73-year-old Tina Turner recently married her boyfriend of 27 years Erwin Bach, a German music producer, on the banks of Lake Zurich in Switzerland in a bold wedding dress choice: black and green.

Although Tina is a Buddhist, she went with a more “ American tradition I grew up with, tailoring it a little bit to me.”

As for the dress, Tina fell in love with the Giorgio Armani green taffeta and black silk tulle dress on the runway in Beijing. “I thought, ‘I gotta have that, even if I never wear it,'” she told HELLO!. “Then I thought, ‘I know, that will be my wedding dress!'” Even though the bride didn’t wear white, Tina required the women who attended the ceremony to wear white, and the men to wear black tie. Oprah Winfrey and Bryan Adams were among the 120 guests at the couple’s home, the Chateau Algonquin.

The superstar feels that she’s reached a “nirvana” stage in her life. “It’s that happiness that people talk about, when you wish for nothing, when you can finally take a deep breath and say, ‘Everything is good,'” she said. “It’s a wonderful place to be.” Tina and Erwin are spending their honeymoon in Italy.

Red dresses are a growing trend among brides, but should black and green be a thing? I personally think it’s kind of bad-ass to just be struck by a kind of wild gown and wear it at your wedding.
