Is Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell in labor? Tyler Baltierra tweets about her being dilated!
It sounds like Teen Mom‘s Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra could have an extra special gift arrive before Christmas! Although Catelynn is just about 35 weeks along, Tyler tweeted earlier this morning that she is quickly progressing…
AHHHHH! I'm getting REALLY impatient now! #DialatedTo2 #40PercentEffaced

The message — which was retweeted by Catelynn — led to many “congratulations” from fans. But, the truth is that Catelynn may still be days, weeks or even a month away from giving birth. According to What to Expect, some pregnant women begin dilating and the cervix begins thinning (effacing) long before their bundle of joy arrives while others only take hours.
Although it’s unclear whether she’s experienced any real contractions, it sounds like Catelynn’s conditions mean she is technically in early labor, which is marked by the onset of labor until the pregnant woman is 3-centimeters dilated. Here’s what American Pregnancy suggests for women in this phase…
During this phase you should just try to relax. It is not necessary to rush to the hospital or birth center. Try to enjoy the comfort of the familiar surroundings at home. If early labor occurs during the day, do some simple routines around the house. Keep yourself occupied while conserving your energy. Drink plenty of water and eat small snacks. Keep track of the time of your contractions. If early labor begins during the night it is a good idea to try to get some sleep. If you are unable to fall asleep, focus on doing some light activities like cleaning out your closet, packing your bag, or making sack lunches for the next day.
It sounds like Catelynn did a great job of focusing on “light activities” last night by doing some impressive Christmas decorating with Tyler.
She was also active last weekend, when she did a Link Fund event with Teen Mom 2 pal Kailyn Lowry.
Hopefully Catelynn’s getting spoiled by Tyler, because the next phase of labor is when everything gets pretty intense: She will be in “active labor” when she hits 3 centimeters. This is likely when she’ll head to the birth center. Things should progress pretty quickly from there until she’s 10-centimeters dilated and ready to push.
Good luck to Catelynn… We can’t wait to meet the new baby on the upcoming season of Teen Mom!
