TLC announced today that the sixth season of Sister Wives will premiere on Sunday, Sept. 13. With Robyn Brown’s new pregnancy and the family’s ever-changing dynamics, it promises to be an interesting batch of new episodes.
Here is what is in store, per TLC’s description to The Wrap…
Kody and the sister wives — Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn — are at a crossroads in their relationship. While Meri’s divorce from Kody was meant to be just a document shuffle, it has become nothing like what the family thought it would be… So much has changed and the whole family struggles to figure out how to move forward.
In addition to the shifting family structure, the Browns begin their journey to legally adopt Robyn’s children from a previous marriage. Kody also takes his youngest daughters to the beach in an attempt to bond more with them, and Robyn announces her pregnancy to the family, kicking off the countdown to her due date.
In an sneak peek video also shared with The Wrap, Meri tells Robyn her divorce from Kody is final, which she admits is “weird” but ultimately good for the family.
“I’m realizing now that while that divorce process was really hard, leading up to it and going through it, I feel like I’ve dealt with it enough that I can see a bigger picture,” Meri later said in a confessional. Laughing while adding it’s up to her to tell Kody to divorce is final, she said, “I just have to laugh about it because it just feels so stupid to me.”
It seems that clip is from an early episode in the new season, especially because there are some reports Meri later opted out of filming to focus on taking classes. Those rumors were fueled in May when Meri didn’t make any mention of her 25th wedding anniversary to Kody on social media, instead posting about moving forward. She also didn’t respond when Kody posted about having 25 more years of “magic.”
Sister Wives season 6 premieres on TLC on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9/8c.
