Super-hunk Scott Eastwood has nabbed a leading role in The Longest Ride, an upcoming movie based on Nicholas Sparks’ book.
“Great book. Thanks Fox for this amazing opportunity!! #thelongestride #nicholassparks,” he said, announcing the news on Instagram this week.
According to E! News, the 28-year-old will star as a professional bull rider named Luke who falls for a college student named Sophia. The lucky actress who will take on that role hasn’t been revealed.
Last October, Nicholas Sparks — author of such love stories as The Notebook — told New York Daily News he was eager for The Longest Ride to be adapted for the big screen.
“I’m fairly involved especially in the early stages — the screenplay, the selection of the screen writer, the director, the casting,” he said. “I’m on set quite a bit.”
This is Scott’s biggest role to date. He’s previously appeared in smaller roles in dad Clint Eastwood’s films Gran Torino and Flag of Our Fathers. Scott really gained public attention last fall when he posed shirtless for Town & Country.
The Longest Ride is due in theaters on April 3, 2015.
