The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak Biermann shared some terrifying news earlier today, revealing her 4-year-old son Kash Biermann is currently in the hospital being treated for “very traumatic injuries” following a dog attack.

Kim broke the news with a photo of husband Kroy Bierman holding Kash’s hand while Kash appears to be in pain lying in a hospital bed:

“I don’t know where to start,” Kim writes in the caption. “The last 14hrs of our lives has been a living nightmare. My sweet @kashbiermann was bit by a dog and had very traumatic injuries. I’ve never prayed so hard, or been so scared in my life. My husband, our daughters, Kj, Tracey, his nanny, Michael Beck and everyone close to us all pulled together and held each other up.”

Kim reveals more details about Kash’s treatment, and adds that she will not be making her scheduled appearance on Watch What Happens: Live tonight:

Kash was in the operating room for a couple hours and now we are praying for a quick speedy recovery. Due to this I will not be on WWHL tonight but will do my best to make it up very soon! Thank you for all your prayers and most importantly Thank you God for your protection ❤️ A very special Thank you to my incredible medical team! A few days in the hospital and we will be back home ❤️

Prior to and after her Instagram post, Kim also shared photos and videos from the hospital room on Snapchat. “Very thankful we live in Atlanta and have one of the best childrens hospitals in the country!” Kim wrote. “I will not be on WWHL tonight obviously. Been the longest 12 hrs of my life! So grateful ?”

She later shared this photo of KJ with his younger brother, as well as a brief video clip:
