Joey Chestnut wisely proposed to his girlfriend before Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest — because the marriage offer probably would have been less enticing after he scarfed down 61 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
Joey popped the question to Neslie Ricasa, his girlfriend of three years, just after she lost the women’s competition. Afterward, he claimed his eighth straight win. (Although he was shy of his record 69 franks.)
