Today was the end of a long journey for Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans as she officially graduated from college earlier today with a degree in medical clinical assisting. The proud grad tweeted her excitement: “Well today is the big day,” she began. “Sexy and successful! If I have been through all I did today and still can go back to school and graduate… SO CAN U! I did it !!!!! ????? ”
She posted the photos above posing in her blue Miller-Motte cap and gown by herself, then shared a number of pictures, including this one with Nathan Griffith, Jace and Kaiser:

UPDATE – Jenelle added this photo with mom Barbara Evans and her son Jace and wrote, “And of course thanks to my mother for always motivating me to be independent ….and to chase my goals no matter what obstacles may come up. ?❤ ”

“And these girl right here made my school days so much more enjoyable and I’m glad to have met you guys,” Jenelle wrote with the photo above. “It will be weird we aren’t on the same schedules anymore! ? ”
She then posted this montage and wrote, “So overwhelming, didn’t expect so many people to come! ? ”
Jenelle mentioned in her live Facebook fan Q&A last night that she hopes to eventually continue her education and get a degree as a surgical technician, but for now she’s going to start pounding the pavement looking for work as a medical assistant. So what does that mean exactly? What kind of jobs does someone with a degree in medical clinical assisting qualify for? Here are some examples from Miller-Motte’s website:
• Medical Clinical Assistant
• Laboratory Assistant
• Front Office Receptionist
• Patient Services Representative
• Scheduling Coordinator
Congratulations to Jenelle! She’s done a lot to reduce the amount of chaos in her life over the last five years, and although she obviously still struggles with it, being able to find enough stability and commitment to complete her degree says a lot about the progress she has made.

In honor of her graduation, I thought I’d wrap up this post with a couple Photoshopped throwback pictures of Jenelle that we created back in November of 2011 when Jenelle first announced she was changing her college degree from film studies to being a surgical assistant:
UPDATE – As if often the case with Jenelle, it seems a lot of folks are obsessed with not giving her too much credit. So let me point out that Miller-Motte is a technical college and Jenelle received a certificate of completion from their Medical Office Assistant Course of Study. As far as accreditation, this is from the Miller-Motte website:
The Medical Assisting program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).
So let me offer up this revised paragraph now:
