Jared Leto The Joker Suicide Squad

Director David Ayer has shared the first image of Jared Leto as The Joker from the upcoming film Suicide Squad and the result is an appropriately chaotic and frightening mash up of Marilyn Manson and Riff Raff!

Here’s what I mean:

In the photo, Jared Leto can be seen with his famous long hair cut off, shaved eyebrows and lack of beard sporting a wide array of tattoos, including the word “Damaged” o his forehead and numerous HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAs all over his body. In addition, he is sporting the Joker’s signature green hair as well at silver-capped teeth and a single purple glove.

“The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character — that’s what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right?” Leto said in an interview with Billboard in February. “[He’s] this beautiful disaster of a character — what a big challenge.”

As you might imagine, the internet was quick to have a little fun with the image, and here are some of my favorites:

I think Jared Leto looks frighteningly ridiculous as The Joker, which seems exactly right. Personally, I cannot wait to see him on screen! Unfortunately, I do have to wait. Suicide Squad is currently being filmed in Toronto and is set to be released August 5, 2016.

Filming continues on Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated Batman sequel The Dark Knight Rises in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where a savvy photographer snapped these images of actor Tom Hardy as super-villain Bane. (Or is that Hannibal Lecter dressed for winter?) Also, there’s a great photo of one of the camouflaged “tumbler” vehicles being used in the film as well!

Mug Shot Hall of Shame: Mr. Adam Berndt

About a month ago 24-year-old Adam Berndt got into a shootout with U.S. marshals who were attempting to arrest him in Portland. This ended up being a poor decision for Mr. Berndt as he got shot up pretty good, spent a month in the hospital and came out the other end with a nomination for The Mug Shot Hall of Shame!
