At 9 lbs., 10 oz., little Israel was not so little. Jill initially planned to deliver at home, as sister-in-law Anna Duggar has done. However, the first family picture shows they ended up going to the hospital. Fortunately, the Dillards confirmed Jill and Israel are doing well. Jill’s parents also shared the news on Facebook, where they said, “We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby! Love this sweet baby Israel! We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!”
Jill was 41 weeks and five days along when Israel made his arrival — proving he’s already working on “Duggar Time.”
According to the Social Security Administration, baby name Israel has held strong in its rank as a mid-200s most-popular name for the past decade. It has strong ties to Christianity and Judaism as Jacob from the Old Testament was renamed Israel after wrestling with an angel. It means “God contended.”
Congratulations to Jill and Derick on the arrival of their son!
