Pet-owners, don’t let your puppies and kitties grow up to be Octomoms

Nadya Suleman is pretty close to losing the home that’s barely big enough for herself and her 14-count litter, so PETA has stepped in to help with a spay and neutering ad on her front lawn.

Actually, this ad could do really well on the internet, on print, television. It’s getting free internet exposure, but it could prove very effective in a full-out campaign. Nadya Suleman reportedly owns the trademark for the term “Octomom,” so she could strike a lucrative deal with PETA, keep her house, and continue to feed and take care of her child army.

Here’s the letter PETA sent to Nadya to convince her to campaign for spaying and neutering on her lawn (published in the Orange County Register, via PopEater):

“In light of recent reports that you may be facing foreclosure on your home, we’d like to offer to bolster your finances by paying to place an ad (enclosed) on your front lawn. When you gave birth to octuplets to bring your total number of children to 14, you grabbed headlines and got the world talking about your controversial decision. Now will you help turn some of that attention to another important matter — the dog and cat overpopulation crisis?

Taking us up on our offer is a win-win situation: It would help you and your children to keep your home and also reduce the number of homeless dogs and cats.”

The ad plays at the idea that’s in the back of most people’s minds: That Octomom herself should have been spayed or neutered, nor simply not gone through with fertility treatments. Even Nadya herself has admitted regrets. But now that they’re all here, might as well prevent kitties from ending up in LOL sweatshops.
