While is appears that Amanda Bynes is going through some rough times and a public breakdown, her Hairspray co-star Nikki Blonsky claims that Amanda is doing just fine.
“She’s the same Amanda I met working on Hairspray,” Nikki tells Life & Style. “She’s happy. I don’t think that’s a breakdown, but a breakthrough. I back Amanda 100 percent.”
Nikki also says that she talks to Amanda all the time, and doesn’t think there is any reason to worry about her. “I don’t think there is any concern on anybody’s part. She is just living her life and doing what she wants to do and I totally support that for her.”
Amanda had a DUI arrest last year, but things have seemed to be spinning out of control lately due to Amanda’s antics on social media. Still, Nikki thinks her friend is just misunderstood. “I think it was more like an episode of events that maybe people are finding her different for, because she has been so cookie-cutter and so perfect over the years,” Nikki explains.
April 11 Amanda instructed her Twitter audience to not listen to her family and friends when they speak to the media.
“I don’t speak to my parents anymore, they don’t talk to reporters on my behalf. Don’t believe anything you read about me unless I tweet it. My friends don’t speak on my behalf either. Please don’t read anything about me needing help. That offends me.”
She has also instructed the media to only post photos she puts up herself on Twitter, like this one:
This article is definitely not about Amanda needing help, so maybe it’s Amanda approved, but she did subtweet some mean things about Nikki back in March after Nikki tweeted her about texting. Amanda doesn’t follow Nikki on Twitter, it definitely seems she’s talking about her in these tweets.
I’m still holding out hope that Amanda is just trolling us all.
