New Music Friday! Christina Aguilera “Your Body,” Nicki Minaj “The Boys,” Taylor Swift, One Direction
It’s Friday, and that usually means it’s time to kick back and party, so every Friday we’re gonna round up some of the hottest new music to help everyone get their party on. This week we’ve got Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and One Direction (well, we’ve got some artwork.)
Nicki Minaj + Cassie “The Boys”
This single is Nicki at her best: mocking, her growling rap, and a catchy pop hook. She’s totally making fun of all those guy rappers flashin’ their bling and swag.
A version of Christina Aguilera’s new track “Your Body” was leaked last month, but here’s the radio edit. We’re kind of into it:
“Ronan” is a Taylor Swift single that isn’t even supposed to be on her upcoming album Red. She wrote it inspired by a mom who lost her three-year-old boy to cancer, and debuted it last Friday on the “Stand Up 2 Cancer” telethon. Ronan’s mom Maya was “blown away” by the song. She told MTV News: “Listening to it was very emotional and I was blown away by how she got it. She got it in a way that most people don’t. She took the time to take the intimate parts of things I’d written and put them into the song.”
It’s not a good party song, but it will jerk some tears for sure.
One Direction’s artwork for their upcoming single (Oct 1) “Live While We’re Young.” The album, titled the same, comes out October 9.
