New Jersey dad arrested after toddler son found carrying heroin

Phillip Young mugshot Toddler Heroin

27-year-old Philip Young has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after dozens of heroin packets were found in the jacket pocket of his 2-year-old son while attending daycare.

An employee of Michael’s Energy Factory (the daycare facility in question) in Paterson, New Jersey discovered 48 glassine packets of heroin in the toddler’s jacket on Monday. The employee contacted the police who determined that Young had escorted his son to school that day.

Police do not believe that the child was aware that he had the drugs in his possession.

Young is currently being held on $85,000 bail.
