An action packed preview featuring the cast of the upcoming 2nd season of 60 Days In was released yesterday. Along with the video, names and some brief details of the new voluntary inmates were included. Among the new participants is 49-year-old Monalisa Johnson.
Monalisa has founded a support group for parents of incarcerated children called Parents With Incarcerated Children along with the sister site Prison Mom. Monalisa’s daughter, Sierra Marlise Wilson, was arrested on armed robbery charges for a crime committed on 08/28/2012 in Gwinnett County Georgia.
Official records from the Georgia Department of Corrections indicates that Sierra Marlise Wilson was incarcerated on 03/27/2013 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. She is currently serving at Pulaski State Prison and has a max possible release date of 08/27/2022.
In August of 2014, Monalisa posted the following concerning status to the Prison Mom page about her daughter:
The mother, who decided to participate in 60 Days In to learn more about what her daughter’s life behind bars is like, later followed up with a hopeful update:
Monalisa started a company called Sierra Productions that identifies itself as a “full service audio/video production house, and a cutting edge Relationship, Retention, and Loyalty Marketing Consulting Company.”
In the “about me/CEO” section, Monalisa describes herself as an accomplished businesswoman and visionary. She founded Sierra in 1993 and mentions that she has a strong connection to her community which includes “philanthropic efforts with serving the homeless, feeding the hungry and as a youth spiritual mentor.”
Monalisa has a couple of Twitter accounts, but this one features the most recent tweet.
The 60 Days In season 2 cast member also has a YouTube page. Here’s a sample of one her videos in which she talks candidly about attempting to lose weight:
