Masika Kalysha claps back against suggestion Fetty Wap’s DUI was eye-related

Fetty Wap's DUI 3

Masika Kalysha might have something to say to Fetty Wap about his choice of baby mamas–but she’s 100% got his back over media coverage following Fetty Wap’s DUI. The Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star clapped back against what she says are “ignorant” stories Fetty’s eyesight and driving abilities, and stuck up for Fetty’s skills behind the wheel.

Speaking to In Touch, Masika lashed out against the treatment she says her baby daddy’s received since Fetty Wap’s DUI and drag racing arrest earlier this month. “We spoke that day,” Masika began, adding “I spoke to [Fetty’s] friends and his attorney and family before he even got out–and this is not to justify anything, but for me, everyone wants to make such a big deal out of his eye because he was driving, and I just think that’s the most ignorant, asinine thing that you could possibly do.”

Masika also seemed to suggest that the whole thing was being blown out of proportion, reminding readers that Fetty was only .01% over the legal limit, and that he’s normally quite cautious:

All the headlines were very rude and disrespectful. A lot of people have gotten DUIs, but what does it have to do with him not having two eyes? I just think that’s immature. He blew a .09 and the legal limit is .08. I know people that wake up at .10, so I don’t really think that had anything to do with it. He loves cars, he loves motorcycles, he loves bikes, he loves all of that. Yes, he does need to be a little more careful, especially in NY, but it’s really not a big deal or something that anyone’s really worried about. He actually is a really safe driver and a really good driver.

Though the rumor used to be that Fetty lost his left eye in a shootout, he later clarified that he’d never intended to let that story get so far away from him–since it broke when “Trap Queen” was blowing up, he lost control of it. The truth, Fetty explained, is far less dramatic: “When I was little I had gotten into a little accident,” he explained, “and it gave me congenital glaucoma in both of my eyes. The doctor saved one; I was blessed to still have my vision. That’s it. That’s the story.”
