Mark Buehrle makes play of the year on Opening Day
Chicago White Sox Ace Mark Buehrle
On the heels of the 2010 opening game Sunday night between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in which the man Neil Diamond serenaded Fenway Park with Sweet Caroline the rest of baseball joined in with opening day games all day Monday.
Just like that, Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle (pronounced Bur-Lee) has probably locked up the defensive play of the year or “webgem” if you’re an ESPN Baseball Tonight fan. You hate to toss out such hyperbole just one game into the season but the play is that good.
Buerhle chasing a stubber down the first base line leaps, turns in the air, and flips a soft toss under his legs to first base for the out. WOW! Now what do fans have to look forward to? Well, Albert Pujols is on pace for over 300 home runs.
Here is the video in all its glory:
UPDATE: Apparently MLB is pretty aggressive with protecting their videos so I will just have to provide you with the link to the video HERE
Get it done Mark Buehrle!
