Man texting with both hands while driving arrested with toddler and drugs in the car

Dandre Moore mugshot double texting

In what can only be described as dumbidextrous, 19-year-old Dandre Moore (mug shot photo above) was arrested in Mobile, Alabama earlier this month after he was stopped by police “double texting” while driving through the George Wallace Tunnel. (Yes, “double texting” means he was texting with two different cell phones in both hands at the same time — apparently steering the vehicle with his knees.) Adding insult to stupidity, police found a large amount of drugs, including marijuana, Xanax, and oxycodone, in the car. Oh, and did I mention there was a three-year-old child in the back seat?

According to Theresa Seiger of AL.com, Moore was stopped on April 1 and he “allowed officials, including deputies, Alabama State Troopers and officers with the Spanish Fort Police Department, to search his car. Inside they found a bottle of prescription oxycodone pills which had been filled on March 26 with 720 pills.”

Lori Myles, public information officer with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, says there were only 386 pills remaining at the time of the search. And as to Dandre’s ambitextrousness, Myles stated, “He was double texting and driving with his knees.” Moore apparently told officials he had been double texting since he was 15.

In addition to the oxycodone pills, police also found an unlabeled pill bottle had “several Xanax” inside as well as nearly $5,000 in cash in the glove compartment.

Dartavious Moore mug shot double texting arrest

Riding shotgun with Moore was 22-year-old Dartavious Moore (mug shot photo above), who according to Myles, had an ounce of marijuana hidden in his underwear.

In addition to the three-year-old child, there were two women in the backseat as well. The women and the child were released, but both Dandre Moore and Dartavious Moore were arrested. According to AL.com:

Dandre Moore was charged with illegal possession of the prescription drug Xanax and possession of a controlled substance. Dartavious Moore was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

What? No reckless driving charge?!?
