LOVE AFTER LOCKUP Are Anissa and Jeff together? SPOILERS

We’re three episodes into the dramatic new season of Love After Lockup, but there’s still one couple viewers have yet to meet. Anissa and her tatted convict hunk Jeff make their debut tonight — or at least Anissa does. Anissa and Jeff have been “dating” for eleven years and he’s already stood her up twice after his previous releases!

“The first two times that Jeff was released he told me he would come to the house and he just never arrived,” 51-year-old Anissa says of 39-year-old Jeff. “He just broke my heart,” she adds.

A broken heart and two strikes isn’t about to prevent Anissa from giving Jeff another swing though. “I know that he regrets it now,” she says of his cold feet. “I’ve spent all this time and money. He will come home to me this time.”

In one of Anissa’s first scenes she is wedding dress shopping with her friend and her friend tells the cameras that her skepticism goes beyond whether or not Jeff will show up. “There is definitely something fishy about this relationship,” she says. “I’m not even convinced he’s real.”

That leaves three very big questions for Anissa and Jeff this season: Does Jeff stand Anissa up again? Is Jeff a catfish? Are they still together

The answer to the first two questions looks to be a resounding NO. And the third question? The two lovebirds have recently created social media accounts and it appears as though they are currently together and quite happy!

Jeff shared a very brief video with Anissa on Thursday, which apparently was her birthday! Here’s a screen cap followed by Jeff’s message:

Why did WE tv wait to add Anissa and Jeff?

 
If you’re curious why Anissa and Jeff were a late addition to the show, that’s because his prison release was VERY recent. According to federal prison records (yes, Jeff was a federal inmate), Jeff was released on June 16.

With less than a month of freedom under his belt, it’s a little difficult to know if his humility and devotion to Anissa will last. That being said, things are looking about as positive as they could be at this point!

Jeff has made several posts talking about work, including mentioning that he works 9 hours a day. Just yesterday he posted a photo on Facebook in a truck looking like he was heading to work and he wrote: “Good morning world..let’s go get this money.” It’s unclear what kind of job Jeff has, but there are a couple images of him with a work crew and it looks like they are pressure washing in front of a church.

Don’t get your hopes up too high, however. Scrolling through Jeff’s numerous social media accounts turns up numerous engagements and even a pregnancy announcement — all in the past seven years. Granted, none of his older posts are tinged with the same humility as his recent ones, so perhaps some tempered hopes would be OK.

UPDATE – Just after this post was published, Anissa clarified on Instagram that Jeff is still in a halfway house. She says they have had several three-hour windows of time together. “Just got back from taking him back,” she added. “The next time he comes home ..he is here to stay…which will be soon😍..” As viewers of Love After Lockup are well aware, it’s when the convict actually moves in full time that the relationship timer really begins.
