Lick Mas: Taco Bell employee shares gag-worthy photo

Taco Bell Employee Licking Taco Shells

Here’s an idea: If you are an employee at any kind of food service institution, don’t post pictures of yourself defiling said food if you plan on keeping your job.

That simple concept proved too difficult for one Taco Bell employee whose picture was shared on the corporate Facebook page by a disgruntled customer.

It’s not clear how the Facebook poster found the photo, but he wasn’t ambiguous with his opinion: “This sure says a lot about your employees, food treatment, and what they post on the internet.”

Taco Bell’s crisis management team quickly sprung into action and assured everyone that their chain does not tolerate such blatant food handling infractions.

“We believe this is a prank and the food was not served to customers. We are conducting an investigation and will be taking swift action against those involved.”

Still, it’s kind of hard to get that image out of your head… Is Taco Bell’s special sauce is really saliva sauce?!

Although the optimists among us like to believe the taco shells never went on to contain beef, chicken or cheese, top brand managers say Taco Bell has every right to be concerned.

“The fact that a Bell employee would think to take this photo and share it online — even among his friends — is enough to do damage to a company’s reputation,” said Chris Morran on The Consumerist.

Then again, it seems like there are new claims of toenails or dentures in McDonald’s food every week and the company still racks in huge sales.

Will you think twice before visiting Taco Bell again?
