LHHATL Tommie arrested again, plus details on probation violation over identity theft
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Tommie has been arrested once more, just in time for the LHHATL Season 7 premiere. The latest chapter in the LHHATL Tommie arrested saga stems from Tommie allegedly throwing down on an employee at a Lenox Square Mall jewelry store on February 1st.
As we reported at the time, Tommie and an unidentified male friend were browsing the merchandise at Henri Bendel when the employee, named Daniella, confronted Tommie about her “increasingly rude attitude.” This “set off” Tommie, who surveillance cameras captured “yelling at Daniella.” Tommie then “came around the display case to…slap and punch Daniella repeatedly.”
In addition, the store manager claimed that he’d spotted Tommie and her friend “[trying] to steal items in the past.”
According to Fulton County Superior Court records, Tommie — whose real name is Atasha Jefferson — was arrested in connection with the altercation on March 7th. The official charge against Tommie was “Battery Substantial Physical Harm,” and she posted a $3,000 bail the same day.
Despite the manager’s suggestion, it appears the surveillance footage didn’t capture anything else untoward: the battery charge is the only one pending against Tommie. A follow-up court date has yet to be scheduled.
In addition, we found out a little bit more about some of the identity theft charges against Tommie in Minnesota, which we originally disclosed in our article on Tommie’s criminal history and extensive mug shot photo gallery. It seems that in 2011 Tommie was convicted on one charge of identity theft in Goodhue County, Minnesota, and sentenced to five years’ probation.
Goodhue County court records indicate that Tommie’s probation was originally set to expire in early 2017 — but it was extended that August thanks to an undisclosed probation violation. Here are the relevant sections from Tommie’s record:
Though the court records don’t say exactly why Tommie was found in violation of her probation, the probation extension notes that she is required to “remain law-abiding.” So, while she wasn’t arrested for getting kicked off of a plane in an “alcohol-related incident” last summer, that could have been the reason. But it could also have been her fight with Joseline, or a number of other incidents.
However, it also looks like Tommie’s identity theft charge was reduced to a misdemeanor thanks to Minnesota statute 609.13, which allows for the reduction “if the imposition of the prison sentence is stayed, the defendant is placed on probation, and the defendant is thereafter discharged without a prison sentence.”
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 7 returns tonight at 8 PM on VH1. No word yet on whether we can expect more of the “dark past” of Tommie’s that Karen King spilled the tea on to come up this season.
