Lady Gaga’s “You and I” single cover features male alter-ego Jo Calderone; who’s totally in love with her

Lady Gaga Jo man You and I

Lady Gaga’s cover art for her “You and I” single is creating quite a buzz because it features Gaga dressed in drag, smoking a cigarette. It’s a surprise for some, but in fact many Gaga fans have seen her like this before.

Gaga has a male alter ego, Jo Calderone, which she premiered last year in Japan’s Men’s Vogue.

During that time Calderone (who is a muscle car enthusiast from Palermo, Sicily) published a blog where he talked about taking Lady Gaga out after a photo shoot, and they probably had sex after, “The rest is private ;)”

That whole mess takes masturbation to a new level. It’s super-meta-media masturbation. I’m sure a women’s studies major is writing a paper on this very topic right now.

Here’s Gaga performing “You and I” on The View this week, wearing one of my favorite outfits of hers in a long while. It’s a hounds-tooth extravaganza! Even the piano! I want this whole outfit. Not crazy about the new blonde eyebrows, though.

Jo Calderone circa 2010:

Gaga is also set to premiere her music video for “You and I” as her 1000th Tweet. She’s currently at 992, so it could come this weekend. Her last tweet revealed the “You and I” cover art with this quote: “You will never find what you are looking for in love, if you don’t love yourself.”
