Actress Kate Hudson and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy have called off their engagement.
After four years as a couple Hudson’s rep confirmed the news to People:
“Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now. Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents.”
The former couple’s son, Bingham Hawn Bellamy, was born in July 2011. 36-year-old Bellamy popped the question back in April of the same year. Hudson recently told Women’s Health that she didn’t mind the long engagement, “My parents aren’t married. And one of the reasons why they never got married is because they had been married before and they liked it the way it was. They didn’t feel like they needed a piece of paper to be committed. So for me, I know that marriage is not a golden ticket.”
Hudson was previously married to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson. Hudson and Robinson have a son together – 10-year-old Ryder.
