Justin Bieber is going to space, wants to shoot an out of this world music video

Justin Bieber is headed to space aboard Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic

Justin Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun are heading to space! The pop star officially booked his suborbital space flight with billionaire Richard Branson’s airline, Virgin Galactic. Branson announced the exciting news on Twitter yesterday with Bieber and Braun following his lead.

“Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts,” Branson tweeted. “Congrats, see you up there!”

A short time later, Bieber confirmed the news via re-tweet and suggested they “shoot a music video in SPACE!!” That, of course, had his fans in an uproar of excitement. In less than 24 hours, the tweet has gotten nearly 20,000 re-tweets and was favorited by over 12,000 fans.

Braun also confirmed the news on Twitter, telling fans, “I’m going to space momma!!”

Back in February, Beiber first tweeted his interest in leaving Earth. “I wanna do a concert in space,” he said at the time.

Going into space will definitely be one hell of an experience but it won’t come cheap. According to E! News, the seats on Virgin Atlantic’s rocket-powered SpaceShipTwo cost Beiber and his manager a whopping $250,000 a piece.

Bieber isn’t the first celebrity with out of this world plans. Leonardo DiCaprio (with his charity auction-winning companion), Tom Hanks, Victoria Principal, Ashton Kutcher, and scientist Stephen Hawking have also booked flights to space. No word on whether or not they are on the same flight — but if they are, they should definitely all star in The Biebernaut’s music video.
