Joseph Duggar’s attorney schedules 15-minute depositions, asks for extension when one runs over

Joseph Duggar depositions

Joseph Duggar’s attorney asked for an extension during a court hearing on Tuesday after a witness deposition the day before supposedly lasted longer than expected. The timing issue shouldn’t have been a surprise given there were four depositions scheduled back-to-back with only 15 minutes allotted for each.

Joseph’s lawyer Albert Sauline informed Judge Brantley S. Clark that one of the witness depositions on Thursday lasted “close to an hour.” According to WMBB, “Sauline asked for the extension because he ran out of time to conduct depositions with three other witnesses and because the state may add additional witnesses.”

According to a Notice of Depositions filed by Sauline on July 17, the four scheduled depositions on September 14 were:

1:30 PM CST – Investigator Darrell “Chase” Norris

1:45 PM CST – Ms. Christina Caldwell

2:00 PM CST – Mr. Paul Gene Caldwell

2:15 PM CST – Thomas Lowe (Telephonically)

The Notice indicates the depositions were to be taken at the Office of the State Attorney in Panama City, Florida. Thomas Lowe’s deposition was the only one categorized as telephonic, so it is likely the Caldwells travelled to Florida from Arkansas for the interviews.

Judge Clark set the next court date for November 10. It doesn’t appear Sauline has filed a new Notice of Taking Deposition with a revised schedule. Starcasm will continue to monitor the case and share any major updates.
