Jodie Sweetin responds to controversial Miley Cyrus Instagram post

Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin isn’t sweating the controversial Instagram post Miley Cyrus made Sunday.

Sweetin went through an extremely tough period after her run on Full House ended. She started drinking alcohol at fourteen, and her life, fueled by years of addiction to drugs including meth and crack cocaine, spiraled downward.

But the 34-year-old has been sober for years, and is a proud mother of two daughters.

Considering this background, fans of Sweetin were outraged when Miley posted to Instagram the following image of Jodie from her partying days–along with the caption “Current Mood #fullerhouse.”

Cyrus didn’t hold back, adjusting the caption to further agitate her detractors. The new tag reads, “Current Mood #fullerhouse only you freaks take this as shaming! To me it looks like Stephanie is having a f***ing gay ol time!”

This week Sweetin was announced as a contestant for Dancing With the Stars. When E! News spoke with her during ABC’s introduction to the cast, she had the following to say about the situation: “I don’t pay attention to negative stuff. I have so much good stuff going on in my life right now that I try not to pay attention.”

Jodie also talked about how much her Full House family has helped her. “When you are as close to people as we are to each other, for that long, you become a family,” she explained. “We support and love each other no matter what. It becomes a real familiar relationship where we insulate each other from all of that stuff and support and love each other through it.”
