Jodie Foster is married! Who’s her wife, Alexandra Hedison?
Congratulations are due for Jodie Foster and Alexandra Hedison! The ladies tied the knot over the weekend, a rep for the Academy Award-winning actress confirmed.
According to E! News — which first reported the wedding — Jodie and Alexandra began dating last summer. A few months before that, Jodie semi-informally came out while accepting the Cecille B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes.
“I am not giving a coming out speech tonight, because I already did my coming out about a 1,000 years ago back in the Stone Age,” Jodie said to the supportive audience of peers. “In those very quaint days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends and family and coworkers and then gradually, proudly to everyone who knew her, to everyone she actually met. But now, apparently, I’m told that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference, a fragrance, and a prime time reality show.”
In her speech, Jodie also thanked ex-girlfriend Cydney Bernard, with whom she co-parents two sons.
Jodie’s new wife is a contemporary photographer, who describes her work as “a direct encounter between the individual and the immensity of the landscape, both architectural and natural.” She’s had solo exhibits at notable galleries in London, Los Angeles and New York.
Alexandra previously worked as an actress, appearing most recently in The L Word. She also had a fairly high-profile relationship with Ellen DeGeneres between 2001 and 2004.
