Is Ireland Baldwin still upset about her dad’s “little pig” rant?

Everyone knows Alec Baldwin had a sever case of The Very Bad Dads a few years ago when a voicemail leaked of him screaming at his then 11-year-old daughter Ireland, and calling her a “thoughtless little pig” because he hadn’t been able to get in contact with her.

Now 16, Ireland is speaking out about it, and not only did she forgive her dad, she didn’t even think it was a big deal at the time.

Ireland told Page Six Magazine:

“The only problem with that voicemail was that people made it out to be a way bigger deal than it was. He’s said stuff like that before just because he’s frustrated. For me it was like, ‘OK, whatever.’ I called him back and I was like, ‘Sorry Dad, I didn’t have my phone.’ That was it.”

The father-daughter duo, who are often snapped by the paps looking happy together, even recently thought of recording a YouTube parody of the incident.

“We almost did something funny on YouTube, of me calling him and yelling at him. We were just talking about it the other week,” she revealed.

It’s not cool to normalize emotional and verbal abuse, but hopefully Alec has chilled out over the years when it comes to his daughter. Alec has vocalized to the media that he didn’t get over the voicemail leak very easily, and even considered killing himself.

In 2009 he told Playboy:

“I spoke to a lot of professionals, who helped me … If I committed suicide, [Kim Basinger’s side] would have considered that a victory. Destroying me was their avowed goal.”

C’est la vie.
