Inside Usher’s $20 million herpes lawsuit
It was revealed last week that Usher settled a lawsuit from a woman who claimed she contracted herpes from the singer with $1.1 million. Now TMZ reports that he’s facing a fresh lawsuit from a sexual encounter that took place this past April to the tune of $20 million.
According to court documents related to his first lawsuit Usher said he initially learned he had herpes around 2009-2010, which is when he split with ex-wife Tameka Foster. Despite this knowledge, he continued to have unprotected sex with women. The laws over STD disclosure vary from state-to-state, but in California exposing someone to an STD without letting them know can be a felony.
The woman from the first lawsuit says Usher claimed he was STD-free despite have a “greenish discharge.” She trusted what he said and continued to have unprotected sex. She later developed vaginal sores, fever, and chills and was diagnosed with herpes. Usher set her up with his own doctor who disclosed to her that the singer had herpes too.
Usher has been married to his current wife Grace Miguel for almost two years, and according to claims alleged in this new lawsuit, he had two sexual encounters with another woman on April 16 and 28 in Atlanta and New Orleans. The woman say she has since been diagnosed with herpes and is suing Usher for “negligence, battery and emotional distress.” She only found out about Usher’s diagnosis after news hit about his $1 million settled lawsuit.
