Houston Rockets forward Terrence Jones was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly stomping on a homeless man’s leg.

The NBA baller and Portland native was leaving an area bar called Tube at around 2 am when a Portland police sergeant saw Jones walk up to a pair of homeless men who were sleeping in a doorway. The sergeant said Jones yelled, “Wake up,” then raised his leg and stomped down on one of the man’s legs.

The man, identified as 46-year-old Daniel John Kellerher, received a minor injury and did not require immediate medical attention according to police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson.

During his court appearance yesterday, Jones pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge. His attorney stated on the way in that his client “didn’t stomp on the man” and that “this isn’t a criminal matter.”

Jones posted a $1,500 bail. His next scheduled court appearance is Sept. 6, KATU reports.
