GYPSY SISTERS Mellie Stanley arrest update: Passes GED in jail, court hearing this week
Former Gypsy Sisters star Mellie Stanley was arrested in Louisiana in early December and later transferred back to her home state of Kentucky to face multiple felony charges after an alleged coupon scam netted her more than $18,000 in goods at Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us. The 28-year-old mother of three remains behind bars, but is occasionally able to update her fans via the Gypsy Gossip: Tattle Tales Facebook page.
Earlier this month, friends of Mellie’s revealed on the page that she has been indicted and has a hearing scheduled this week. Those same friends have crowd sourced funding to hire Mellie an attorney, and the attorney is reportedly “confident that she will have a good outcome.”
That update also revealed that Mellie has been working towards getting her GED, and they just recently found out that she passed!
Earlier today the page shared an update in the form of a dictated telephone conversation with Mellie in which Mellie expressed her gratitude at those who have helped her out, and frustration at most all of her immediate family members who have apparently not been there for Mellie at all. Here’s the full message:
Mellie thanks her sister Tanya, who Mellie says “has helped me and my kids a lot.” It’s our understanding that Tanya has been the primary caregiver the children that were in Mellie’s care when she went away.
If you would like to help Mellie out, you can send an email to melliejleeldf(at)google.com for more information on how to help with the legal fees or put money into her account. You can also send her a care package of specific products (food, hygiene, clothing, etc.) by visiting MyCarePack.com. If that link doesn’t take you directly to Mellie, just select Kentucky and Fayette County Detention Center from the pull down menus then press “enter.” From there you will click the “Inmate Search” button and enter Mellie’s first and last names, which are Mellie and Lee (not Stanley). You should be able to figure it out from there.
