Glee’s Matthew Morrison performs first live solo concert

'Glee's' Matthew Morrison The Grove

Everyone’s favorite Glee club director Matthew Morrison took to the stage at L.A.’s The Grove on Saturday for his first solo concert.  The actor and Broadway star performed many standards as well as a song from his upcoming album.  The free gig was to help promote music education as part of a program for The Grammys.  Morrison stated:

“I’m excited to kick-off the Good Mood Mission by bringing people together for my first public performance,” said Matthew Morrison.  “I’m also happy to join the Oscar Mayer brand to support something very important to me, music education, through a $50,000 donation to the Grammy Foundation.”

Morrison’s album is expected to be released later this year and will feature a duet with Elton John.  He’s described his own music as a cross between Michael Buble and Justin Timberlake – sort of “bringing family-appropriate-crooning sexy back.”
