Glee Season 4 posters released! (without Dianna Agron?)

Glee Season 4 cast photo without Dianna Agron's character Quinn Fabray

The fourth Season of Glee is set to premiere on Fox September 13th as Gleeks prepare to deal with the graduation of show regulars Rachel Berry (Lea Michele), Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith), Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer), Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron), Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley), Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) and Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.). The fourth season will reportedly follow each of the graduates as well as the batch of New Directions members left behind at McKinley High, which is reflected in the above promotional poster for the new season tweeted earlier today by the show’s executive producer Ryan Murphy. (Click to enlarge)

In the photo you can see all the cast members (well, almost all of them – more on that in a minute!) as well as a sign post with the names of some of the destinations of the graduating class. Kurt Hummel is headed to New York City for Vogue, and Lea Michelle is also heading to The Big Apple to attend the fictional NYADA (New York Academy of Dramatic Arts). Santana is off to St. Louis for school and Finn is going who knows where with the Army. Los Angeles is also included, which might be the destination for either Mercedes or Mike or both.

Strangely absent from the photo is cast regular Quinn Fabray, played by Dianna Agron. (Quinn is supposedly headed to Yale, but not only is she absent from the picture, there is no New Haven sign either!) Vulture asked Murphy back in May to clarify which Glee cast members were returning and which ones weren’t, to which he responded by stating,”They’re all coming back.” He then added, “Anyone who is a regular is coming back. Everyone said yes.” So where is Dianna Agron in the Season 4 poster?

That question spawned an outpouring of concern, marked by the Twitter hash tag #QuinnFabrayLives. Ryan Murphy responded with the tweet, “Gleeks, please relax. Dianna is still on the show. We love her and have great plans for Quinn. #QuinnFabrayLives”

(Also absent from the poster is Emma Pillsbury, played by Jayma Mays. So far #EmmaPillsburyLives hasn’t gotten much play, so no comments yet on her absence.)

In addition to the cast photo, Murphy also shared a poster just for Rachel Berry’s plot line featuring her hard-nosed NYADA instructor Cassandra (played by Kate Hudson) putting the “L” in “Glee” over the shoulder of Rachel, who is wearing a Statue of Liberty headpiece:

The slogan reads, “Sometimes the Big Apple bites.”
