Four siblings born on the same day in different years
A British mom insists she didn’t try to skew the 1-in-133,225 odds of having a “quadruple birthday” for her four children.
“I really can’t belive we have another birthday on the same day, it certainly wasn’t planned,” Emily Scrugham said this month, a few days after delivering son Ryan. The new baby joins 2-year-old twins, Brooke and Nicole, and 5-year-old Sam. All four were born on January 12. “None of the births were due on January 12. Sam was two weeks late, the twins one month early and Ryan three days late.”
Although Emily and her fiancé Peter Dunn didn’t plan for their four children to have one birthday, Peter said they are taking it in stride.
“We plan to make every birthday a real family event where birthdays get celebrated individually and together,” Peter said. “It will always be tough just after Christmas but we will shop for bits and bobs all year round to try and take some of the strain.”
Thankfully, the family doesn’t live in the United States — where the year they celebrate a 16th, two 18th and one 21st birthdays would be a bit overwhelming!
Do you know any non-multiple siblings born on the same day? How do they handle celebrations?
