Disney World’s Magic Kingdom to serve booze

Disney Princesses go wild at Disney World

Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida is about to get even more fun — at least for those 21 years and older. The world-famous theme park will now be serving beer and wine for the very first time in 41 years. However, it will only be available at the Beauty and the Beast themed Be Our Guest restaurant which is set to open this November.

Maribeth Bisienere, the vice president of food and beverage for Walt Disney Parks, wants to be sure that all of the Disney World experiences are as authentic as possible and when it comes to the Be Our Guest restaurant, its French cuisine wouldn’t be true to its roots if it wasn’t accompanied by a glass of wine.

Snow White drunk

“You cannot,” insists Bisienere, “walk into a French restaurant and not get a glass of wine or beer. It made more sense to do it than not to do it.” They may be “doing it” but they aren’t getting too crazy. The beer and wine will only be served at the Be Our Guest restaurant during dinnertime hours.

The Be Our Guest restaurant is part of the Fantasyland expansion and can be found (as we’re sure you’re wondering) at The Beast’s castle which is located in the Enchanted Forest. Once your all liquored up, you wonder the forest where you’ll come across Ariel’s Grotto and if you aren’t feeling too tipsy, take a ride on Ariel’s Under The Sea Journey.

In addition to the beer and wine, we could only hope that there will be talking tea cups and candlesticks at Be Our Guest. You know, to make sure the experience is “authentic.”

Props to Jezebel on the scoop!
