Diane Lane and Josh Brolin split after 8 years

Diane Lane and her Gangster Squad hubby Josh Brolin have split after eight years of marriage. The couple broke up quietly a couple of months ago, but are now confirming the news via their reps.

“Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have decided to end their marriage,” reps for the couple confirm to Us Weekly. “It was a mutual decision,” adds an insider. “It is very amicable. It’s not ugly, it’s just over.”

Diane and Josh tied the knot in August of 2004 and have no children together. This will be the second divorce for both stars. Diane was previously married to fellow actor Christopher Lambert from 1988 to 1994, and during those same years, Josh was married to actress Alice Adair (the mother of his two children Trevor, 24, and Eden, 18).

While their marriage seemed to be a happy one, there was an odd incident between them early on. In December of 2004, just months after they were married, Diane called the police after getting into an altercation with Josh and he was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. However, Diana declined to press charges against him and a spokesperson for the couple later stated that it was all just a “misunderstanding.”
