DANCE MOMS Abby Lee Miller prison sentence delayed, plus Lifetime special details

Is Abby Lee Miller prison sentence delayed

Dance Moms matriarch Abby Lee Miller is doing a little dancing of her own this week as she will be enjoying a little more time as a free woman than she expected.

Abby was supposed to turn herself in and begin her 366-day sentence on Friday, June 30, but Entertainment Tonight is reporting that the surrender date has been pushed back until June 12. “At this time it is not known why the date was changed,” the site says.

Deadline also says that the reasoning for the delay is unknown, but they hear “personal issues including health are at the core of the surrender date being pushed back two weeks.”

Never one to miss a potential TV ratings moment, Abby has filmed a sit-down interview special to air on Lifetime:

A source close to Miller tells ET that the special was shot in Los Angeles and was conducted by a news journalist. The source described the interview as “riveting,” adding that Miller “discussed everything” and was “very emotional” and “broke down a lot.”

In case you missed it, Abby Lee Miller entered a guilty plea on charges of bankruptcy fraud and international smuggling almost a year ago to the day. The plea deal lessened her potential prison sentence and fines, and on May 9 she was sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison plus two years of probation upon her release.

On top of the prison sentence, Abby was ordered to pay a fine of $40,000 in addition to a $120,000 judgment for the currency-reporting violation charge.

Is anyone else imagining Abby’s time behind bars mirroring the experiences of celebrity chef Judy King on Orange Is The New Black? Only Abby’s prison won’t be privately run, so I doubt she can expect the level of special treatment received by Judy King. Ooooo — and lord help Abby if there’s a [SPOILER] prison riot!
