Cops say man decapitated his mom on Mother’s Day, carried severed head to store, and stabbed clerk

An Oregon man has been charged with murder and attempted murder after an impossibly macabre scene played out a small town supermarket.

Police allege that Joshua Lee Webb decapitated his mom, Tina Webb, on Mother’s Day. Joshua then headed to the only grocery store in Estacada, Oregon, where he was seen covered in blood and carrying his mom’s severed head in one hand and a bloody 8-inch knife in the other.

A customer saw the horrific tableau, screamed, and fled out of the market. The screams alerted employees, and a startled Joshua Lee Webb was said to have ran to the back of the store–where he came upon Michael Wagner, a clerk. Joshua Lee Webb then stabbed Wagner numerous times, but Wagner, 64, still managed to chase Joshua Lee Webb down and tackle him.

Other employees then bound the man until police arrived.

Wagner has undergone surgery and is expected to recover. His wife, Pam Wagner, said on Facebook, “This is such a crazy random thing that has happened and I am truly at a loss why someone would do what this person did. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight.”

Joshua Lee Webb has no history of violent crime.

David Webb, Tina’s husband and Joshua’s father, told Oregon Live, “My wife was wonderful. I’ve been married to her for almost 41 years. Joshua was our son. I never saw a problem. Evidently there was one. I don’t know. I start crying every time I think about it.”
