Chuy Bravo was one of several celebrities set to compete on ABC’s upcoming diving competition show Splash. When he joined show, the Chelsea Lately star didn’t even know how to swim but after some lessons from celebrity diving coach Greg Louganis, he was cleared to compete. Unfortunately, an on-set injury has led to an early exit from the show.

On Monday, during the very first taping of the show, Chuy jumped up on a table at the pool lounge and it broke causing him to fall through the table. When Chuy landed on the ground, he fractured his heel bone which took him out of the competition.

As TMZ reports, “Chuy was treated by EMTs, and a series of X-rays revealed the fracture was such that he could not put any weight on his foot, so he couldn’t dive off the board.”

Chelsea Handler addressed the incident on her show earlier this week telling her fans, “He fell off a table. He’s so lazy, he doesn’t even want to dive,” she added. “So that got him out of this job and the diving job.” According to Chelsea, the injury occurred during an on-set party the cast was having for the premiere of the show.

The premiere of Splash airs on ABC on Tuesday, March 19 at 8/7c. While Chuy won’t be diving, there will be plenty of other celebrities competing including Kendra Wilkinson, Ndamukong Suh, Keshia Knight-Pulliam, and Drake Bell.
