Catching up with Teen Mom 3’s Katie Yeager

It’s been half a year since we’ve seen Teen Mom 3‘s Katie Yeager in all her quick-witted glory on MTV. Without another season on the horizon, we thought we’d check in with the young mom to hear all about how life has changed since the cameras stopped rolling.

The number one question is of course, how’s Molli?

Katie: She is amazing! She surprises me everyday with all she knows and how fast she is growing and learning.

What’s been occupying your time of late, other than motherhood?

Work. Lots of work. I am a teller full-time at a bank and that takes up most of my day. Other than that and Molli I try to sleep every now and then. I’m slowly finishing my B.A.

What do you hope will be included in our “Catching up with Teen Mom 3’s Katie Yeager – 5 years later!” article?

Hopefully I’ll be married to James Franco or something. If not, I guess I will settle for being happily married to some bearded man, graduated from college, with my awesome daughter who is wickedly sassy and smart.

Now that you have a little distance, do you regret appearing on 16 & Pregnant or Teen Mom 3?

Not in the least. It was an amazing experience that brought tons of wonderful people into my life while teaching me so much about myself and the world around me. I feel blessed to have been a part of the show.

What do you think you’ll miss the most about being on a reality TV series?

Hearing other people tell me their stories about how they relate to me or how I inspired them. That always makes me feel like a rock star.

What do you think you’ll miss the least about being on a reality TV series?

Having to talk about every problem over and over again. I am more of a closed-off person about my emotions. In tough times I like to be alone and shut out the world and you can’t really do that when you are on a TV show.

It was rough sometimes being so vulnerable knowing that millions of people are going to criticize you for your choices and mistakes. People on the internet are d**ks to say the least.

What’s your advice for dealing with the haters?

Just ignore them. There is always going to be hateful people out there. Usually when you ignore them they apologize for being jerks later and feel pretty crappy about it.

What do you think about MTV’s decision to continue with their 16 & Pregnant docuseries?

Personally, I think 16 & Pregnant has been a big deal the past few years in showing the good, bad and ugly of teen pregnancy. I believe it has truly made a difference on how young kids protect themselves. I just hope the show continues to stick to its original message and continue to educate people.

Do you keep in contact with your co-stars?

Of course! They are like my family. We talk all the time.

How old will Molli be before you let her watch Teen Mom 3?

Whenever she asks about it and I feel that she is mature enough to emotionally understand it.

How is your relationship with your ex-fiancé, Joey Maes?

We don’t talk much. It is easier that way.

Is there a new guy in the picture?

There is! He is great. We grew up together and our families have been friends for a long time. He is amazing with Molli and for the first time in a long time I’ve let my guard down.

Katie Yeager New Boyfriend

Who is the sexiest man alive?

James Franco or Matty Mckibben (the character from MTV’s Awkward).

If you were to write an erotic novel like Farrah Abraham, what would you name your leading lady?

I always said my stripper name would be Scarlett or Ruby because of my red hair, so probably something like Scarlett Fire.

A big thanks to Katie for using some of her limited spare time to talk with us! To continue keeping up with Katie, we highly suggest following her sassy Twitter account.
