Calvin Klein cologne is attractive, TO JAGUARS!

Let this be a warning to all the single men out there.  If you head out tonight and splash on a little Calvin Klein’s Obsession for Men looking for some cougar action, you just might get another big cat instead!  Researchers have discovered that the legendary designer’s smell-good juice is a wonderful way to lure jaguars.

Fittingly the discovery was made in the fashion capital of the world, New York City!   The  hard-working zoo-dudes at the Bronx Zoo were looking for ways to get cheetahs into camera traps (hidden cameras to observe wildlife) when they began experimenting with different fragrances. After several years of testing they discovered that Obsession for Men did the best job at luring and keeping cheetahs in front of the observation stations.  They tried approximately 23 different fragrances, but they all were tamed by Klein’s smell.

Biologists Rony Garcia and Jose Moreira caught a whiff of this news and tried out Obsession for Men at the Jaguar Conservation Program at the Guatemala Maya Biosphere Reserve.  They began to experience the same success as the zoo-dudes back in Brooklyn.

“The method we are using to study the jaguars here in Guatemala is a non-invasive method which is based on photographing the individuals by using camera traps.  It has been very useful using Obsession (for Men) to get the jaguars in front of these camera traps … and that allows us to estimate with greater confidence the genders and the numbers that live in each studied site.”

In a brilliant cross-marketing move Klein and his cats are taking the whole “animal thing” global.  The Wildlife Conservation Society tentatively plans to expand the use of the cologne in programs in Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador in coming years.

The scientific results for Obsession for Men are not to be confused with Sex Panther, a fragrance that has been musking men up since the ’70s:

We were unable to obtain a comment from Klein, but we just bet he would be horrified at how obese those jaguars are!  They could never dream of walking his runway even if they are camera-starved kittens.  It’s always exciting when zoology crashes head-first into fashion fragrance. MEOW!
