Buckwild’s Salwa Amin free on bond, still faces drug charges
24-year-old Buckwild cast member Salwa Amin is free on bond but still faces drug charges stemming from an arrest back on February 10.
Officers on assignment with the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force raided the Summersville home of 24-year-old Jason Jones based on a tip there was drug activity on the premises. Amin, Jones and 41-year-old Shawn Booker from Detroit were said to be found hiding in a shed behind the residence.
3 packages of heroin were found in the shed and the arresting officers claim Amin was carrying Oxycodone pills in her purse. A “large” amount of cash was found on Booker. Jones told authorities that Amin and Booker brought the drugs to his home to sell. Amin was charged with four felony counts of drug possession with intent to distribute.
Amin’s attorney, Mike Callaghan, spoke with the Charleston Daily Mail and stated that Amin’s parents put up their property for her bond. The amount was originally set at $200,000 but was changed to $100,000 late last week. He added that Amin waved her preliminary hearing and that her case would be presented before a grand jury.
Amin made bond on Friday afternoon and has been actively tweeting since her release.
A follower commented that she thought Salwa was in jail for drug trafficking and she replied, “False allegations. Totally false.”
