Christine Quinn broke with the tradition of having just inviting sisters and best girlfriends to be a part of your bridal party: she asked her 89-year-old grandmother Elizabeth (a.k.a. Nana Betty,) to don one the matching slate gray dresses and be a major part of her big day. Nana Betty didn’t demure, instead she stepped up and even danced all night on the party bus.
“She had the entire wedding party laughing with her words of wisdom and funny comments throughout the day,” Quinn told Huffiest. “Nana got on the party bus with the rest of the wedding party instead of ‘going home to rest’ but did not tell my mom (her daughter). She also danced the entire night away, including an adorable moment when she and my husband’s grandmother, Bellsie, danced together. It was amazing.”
“You’re only as old as you feel and I feel young today,” Nana Betty told her. “We’ll all grow old, but we don’t necessarily have to grow up!”
