Bobbi Kristina Update: Her “deathly fear” of bathtubs explained; Nick Gordon cheating rumors clarified
Bobbi Kristina’s neighbor and close friend Debra Reis Brooks has more to say about the night of Bobbi Kristina’s bathtub accident–and, while they don’t answer any long-standing questions about what happened, Brooks’ words do give a clearer impression of what might have.
Brooks confirmed the long-standing rumor that Bobbi Kristina was, in fact, afraid of bathtubs. And not just afraid–”deathly afraid,” says Brooks. The fear stemmed from the 2012 bathtub incident that claimed Bobbi’s mother Whitney Houston.
“I didn’t think foul play, but thinking how Krissi got in that tub,” said Brooks. “It didn’t make sense. Krissi never took a bath, ever ever! She was deathly afraid of bathtubs. No way Krissi would have drawn a bath, no way.”
Brooks went on to express regret over her own inaction, saying, “Damn it, why didn’t I knock on their door? I wanted to help her and save her.”
Nick Gordon is not a suspect in the ongoing police investigation of the Bobbi Kristina incident. But he is a person of interest. Brooks’ claims that Bobbi Kristina was potentially fooling around behind Gordon’s back–with one of Gordon’s good friends–have case new suspicions on his alibi.
According to Brooks and other eyewitnesses from BK’s townhouse complex, Bobbi and Nick had a huge argument the night before BK’s bathtub incident. Shortly after Gordon left Bobbi’s house, an unidentified man fitting the description of Gordon’s friend Duane Tyrone Hall came over. It was Hall with whom BK took and posted a picture of a selfie in the final hours before she fell in the tub. Police have said that foul play is not likely, but that they haven’t ruled it out.
