Becca Kufrin introduced fans to her baby boy on Instagram earlier this week but it’s his name that’s getting all the buzz.
The 33 year old Minnesota native is best known for her time on the ABC reality dating series’ The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
She also made a brief appearance on Bachelor in Paradise where her and her husband Thomas Jacobs dated and broke up during season 7. The pair got back together after filming ended.

Benson Lee Jacobs Kufrin was born September 21, 2023 and “cracked” his parents “hearts wide open.”
So what’s odd about the name? The order of the last names! Jacobs is Becca’s husband and his name appears first. Traditionally his would come second.
If Becca did what 80% of American brides do, she will have taken the name Jacobs after she wed her partner Thomas on October 13, 2023. Her Instagram post only says “Mr. & Mrs.” but doesn’t clarify a joint last name.
Ultimately, if Becca was a Jacobs, her son would have the surname Jacobs as well.
Reasoning for the name choice
Kufrin explains the name choice is meant to feel “whole” but did NOT explain her reasoning behind the order of Jacobs Kufrin:
Benson Lee Jacobs Kufrin cracked our hearts wide open on September 21, 2023. No amount of words can begin to capture the amount of love and awe we have over this tiny man. We are forever changed with this one’s abundance and can’t believe we are parents to this gift.
Benson, Benny for short, is after the town where my father was born and raised. Lee is for Thomas’s father who sacrifices so much for this country and others. And Jacobs Kufrin is pretty self explanatory but we wanted both parts of us to make this little one whole ❤️
Now we’re off to go cry again over how much we love him.
