Lovebirds Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler, who worked as a set assistant on Burlesque, were pulled over at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday morning and both were arrested for drunkenness.
Here’s the kicker, Matthew Rutler was driving, so naturally he got a D.U.I., but X-stina was just a passenger. Police arrested her too because, according to the Sheriff department’s spokesperson Nicole Nishida, she was “so intoxicated she couldn’t take care of herself.”
Christina was released this morning from police custody, who stated that she will not be prosecuted, and was released once she could “safely take care of herself.”
TMZ has “sources” saying that friends of Christina have been trying to get her into rehab for weeks. The former pop princess had a pretty rough year last year: her new album Bionic tanked in sales and with the critics, her film Burlesque bombed, and she ended her marriage with Jordan Bratman.
